COLONIST

Colonists can be purchased adjacent to ports when an empty vessel of the same company is next to it for 10 coins. They have the ability to build factories on discovered tiles. Colonists can also attack colonists and factories from other companies, as well as villages. Colonists are stronger against factories and villages.

FACTORY
FACTORY

Factories produce 1 coin per turn and can be converted back to a colonist at any time during the players phase.

PIRATE
PIRATE

Each player can commission a pirate. They can buy up to 10 shares in the pirate and other players will have a chance to buy remaining shares. Any other shares will be purchased by other investors. The more shares a player owns the higher the chance they will receive payments from plunder. Pirates cannot trade by default, but can sell captured cargo. Pirates can attack vessels and warships, and are stronger than vessels but weaker than warships. If pirates capture other watercraft, they are converted into pirates.

PORT (large)

The tax rates and trading permissions of a port are determined by its magistrate. Ports cannot be attacked, except by the mainland power. The number above a port specifies its economic value for trading.

STORM
STORM

Storms can be encountered while exploring tiles. Storms will destroy any piece that is caught by them.

VESSEL
VESSEL

Vessels can be purchased by companies for 10 coins adjacent to any port that their executive has trading permissions at. Vessels can transport 1 colonist or cargo, and can trade with both ports and villages. Vessels can attack pirates, warships, and vessels of other companies. Vessels are weaker against pirates and warships. If vessels capture other watercraft, they are converted into vessels.

Villages can be traded with. The number above a village signifies its economic value for trading.

WARSHIP
WARSHIP

Warships can be purchased by ports for 10 coins adjacent to any port that their executive has trading permissions at. Warships can attack pirates and vessels, or warships of enemy ports. Warships are stronger against pirates and vessels. If warships capture other watercraft, they are converted to warships.
