Designer's Notes |
This version of Neighborhood Conflict is a more complex interpretation of the tabletop |
game of the same name, based on the LARP known as City. |

POLITICS |
One element I was able to add to the video game that I wasn't able to have in the tabletop |
game is elections. The tabletop version was already complex enough, so I decided on a |
simpler method to determine the chief of each village. In this version landowners of a |
village are able to vote for the chief, which is historically accurate. In the original LARP |
known as City, this is generally how leaders of the countries and city-states were decided. |

ABILITIES |
Another key difference in this version of the game is that kids gain abilities as they get |
older, and start off with less abilities if they are younger. This provides a dimension of |
realism. But this can also be problematic for players, because if a player starts the game |
with a younger kid they may not have many viable actions to take until the kid gets older. |
