The purpose of Dream Economy is to play a competitive game influenced by your dreams. It will also help you lucid dream, meditate more often, and keep track of your dream locations and characters. Characters are ranked by their net worth, which includes treasury, share portfolio, and the value of all owned items.
Instructions
- Using as a phone app (PWA) is recommended for convenience.
- After clicking Get App, press 3 dots and press "Add to Home screen" to download to your phone as an app.
- Press Export Data to save backup and Import Data to load backup.
- If using as a webpage, Export Data and Import Data should be used each session.
- Make backups of your data regularly.
- If Export Data is not functioning for you, use rescue.html to attempt to extract data.
Rules
- Daily Elapse At the end of each day, press the Elapse button before entering any new locations (characters and items can be added at any time). Check any locations, characters, or icons that had a presence in your dreams that day. Do not check yourself. Main characters are only checked in special circumstances.
- New Locations, Characters, & Items Whenever you dream of a new location, character, or item, enter it into the app. If you have dreamed of a new location before starting the game, it should start with 100 meditokens and each of its shares should start at 100 meditokens. If you have dreamed of a new character before starting the game, they should start with 100 meditokens. If you have dreamed of a new item before starting the game, its value should start at 10 meditokens. If you dreamed of an entirely new location, character, or item, use the default values.
- Location Shares If a character owns a location, give them all shares using the Add Shares button in the character section. Location shares go up any time a location is dreamed of and checked in the Elapse popup.
- Items Items seen at a location belong to that location; items seen with a character belong to that character. Main characters can also find items. Items can be bought and sold between characters. The value of an item will automatically go up when dreamed of and checked in the Elapse popup.
- Main Character Enter yourself as a main character. You start with no meditokens. You may add 1 meditoken for every 10 minutes you meditate while awake.
- Journal Add journal entries as often as possible. Multiple entries per day are allowed. If you have a past dream journal, enter it retroactively. But first use the Elapse button for each past day before adding new data.
- Share Trading Shares are purchased at +10% above share price and sold back at −10%. Characters must have sufficient meditokens. Shares cannot be traded directly between characters, they must go through the location. Use "Sell Share" in the Locations section to buy, and "Sell Share" in the Characters section to sell.
- Share Growth Locations that appeared in a dream that day increase their share price by 10% of their treasury (rounded up). If a main character owns over 50% of that location's shares, the increase is only 1% of treasury instead. The app handles all calculations.
- Character Treasury Any regular character that appeared in at least one dream that day will have their treasury increased by 10%.
- Item Value Any item that appeared in at least one dream that day will have its value increased by 10%.
- Lucid Dreaming Do not embellish information when lucid dreaming.
Tips
- Always enter dates in DDMMMYY format (e.g. 15APR26).
- Export backups of your data to email or cloud storage in case you lose access to your device.
- When dream characters, locations, or items aren't named, give them a realistic name or a name that fits the theme you are trying to build.
- Do not create custom rules unless you are familiar with both the game and the app's limitations.
- You may omit negative or uncomfortable dream elements, as long as no economic consequences are left out.
